Course Description
In this five-week course, students will be introduced to production software needed to create various kinds of beats in genres such as hip hop and EDM, including putting percussion into a sequence, creating a melody, adding effects, samples and structuring your composition. Students will also have the optional opportunity to pitch their newly created works for collaboration with the Contemporary Songwriting and Hip-Hop Lyricist students to be performed at the Record High Spring Session Showcase on May 22nd.
No previous experience is needed and instructions on how to download free software for the course will be given prior to beginning the class.
Orientation
Students and at least one parent/guardian MUST attend the virtual orientation session on Wednesday, March 31st from 7:30pm to 8:00pm in order to participate in the course
